"We see things not as they are, but as we are." -Anais Nin We see, not just with the eyes, but with our whole being. The lens frames memories, desires, dreams, aspirations, hopes and fears. The camera is an extension of one's mind, a window into it, as much as it is a window onto the outside; it is a frame for a viewpoint as much as a viewfinder. They say reading a book is always a conversation, but so is seeing an image. There are eyes behind the lens. A portrait has a subject as well as an author, and it captures a mythology of affect that passes between them, no matter how briefly or how deeply they know one another. A photograph is always the result of an encounter--at the borderlands of the real and the imagined, the intuited, the wished-for. Wandering with lens in hand for over 20 years. Occasionally work on projects. Email or DM if interested.
